Friday, Saturday, Sunday LMA Report

Great 3 days of haddock fishing on the Lady Merrilee 3 all day trips!! Good on Friday great on Saturday and better then great on Sunday! Combine that with flat seas and great people the only thing from a perfect 10 is we had to fight some tide from the full moon!! Still tons of Mack’s on the half day trips!! Still 15 days left till Labor Day!! Looking like it’s gonna be a great fall fishing let’s hope we get the great fall weather too!!

Fish Update!

All Day fishing is still very consistent on the haddock with very few slow trips the last two weeks. The mack’s on the Half Day have been excellent the last 5 days. Whiting fishing on the 6 pack boats and the Tuesday Public Whiting trips have also been excellent with a lot of bats in the mix. Looks like it’s gonna be a great fall with haddock open the rest of the year at 15 per person. And FINALLY, we are allowed one cod per person September 15th -30th. Yes, COD! Summer is winding down, but the fishing surely isn’t!

Wednesday slaughter!!

Tuesday was an absolute slaughter on Haddock, most everyone with their limit. The Whiting boats did just as well. Yesterday not so much, boats are mostly full these two weeks, add into the equation lots of novices and a bad full moon tide and the catch was fair at best. Back out today, hoping for the best. Everything is sold out until Monday except our Bass trips and two hour night trips, weather looks great.

Shout out

Shout out to Captain Kyle Hollaran on his maiden voyage as Capt aboard the LCA. Although he’s been a fixture here more than a few years, and requested as crew by many, you can now request as Captain. Congrats Kyle. I’m writing this at 4am, so I don’t know how you did fishing, the boat is back at the dock and looks to be fine, that’s the most important, but I’m pretty sure you caught fish too. Whiting are in full force, running every Tuesday with the LAM public, and the six packs are available as well. Mackerel have been savage and the Haddock fishing on the all day is holding up excellent for August. Bass slowed this week but usually make a quick come back before we hang it up.

Whiting!!!

WHITING fishing has been rock solid the last 3 weeks after a slow start running limited load Whiting trips every Tuesday 7am-4pm! The All Day and 1/2 day trips remain consistent the last week on Haddock and Mack’s on the half day and the night trips!

Here’s a nice Whiting!! and an excellent dinner for tonight…

Life goes on!

Was a beautiful tribute to our dear friend Kevin, yet it still doesn’t seem real. Fish report is good. Mackerel seem to be constantly great at the Isles of Shoals(today a slaughter), Haddock on the all day have seen very few dogs, and everyone catches 15, just can only keep one third of them. Range 3-5 keepers to 15, for the guys that go all the time. Bass, after a great July slowed a bit last night. Whiting were crazy good, as Fishark said “ land of the giants “ I’ll have Liz post a few pictures, but the trip today was amazing. We have 10 openings onTuesday public trip. Limit 35 people, 9 hours and $85. Deposit required. Next 6 weeks is Whiting prime time. Except for losing Kevin and significant tide problems it’s turning out to be an amazing summer.

Remembered Joy

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all…
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss…
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief –
Don’t shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

Sad news

Our beloved friend, brother and backbone of Eastmans, passed on Thursday in his sleep. Kevin was a fixture here for many years, he started here at age 12 working as crew for my grandfather Oscar, went off to college and then several successful careers until finally coming back to Eastmans for his last 20 years. Always remained a close friend to many of us through the many years and recently could say hi to thousands of patrons by first name from behind the register. We’ll be celebrating his life and contributions to all of us on Thursday, Aug 1 evening at 6:30 on the boats, with a reception at the restaurant to follow 8-9. All are welcome.

Bump with the weather

Unexpected rough day, just for the morning, calm this afternoon and looks like a long stretch of calm seas and hot temps, perfect time to get out on the cooler water. Fishing remains the same as last post, but I haven’t heard from the boats yet today. We have a special Friday night Fireworks cruise due to the cx of them last night, plenty of room and looks picture perfect. Busy weekend for all trips, please call before driving down or book on line. The restaurant generally has a long wait, best times to get the best food on the Seacoast is between 2-430.

Better today

Not that it was bad, but perfect day today. Mackerel were solid, Whiting trip had Whiting as big as 27” and the all day for Haddock didn’t have any dogs. Whales, flat seas and warm temps made for a great day. It’s really good, make your summer trip now, while it last.
